3 year anniversary of being a morning person, a Wellbeing Coaches guide.

3 years ago I had been a morning person for 6 whole weeks!

The business community I’m still part of launched an incredible resource - the 6 week business launch course.

However week 1 was all about health and mindset, it was about focusing on feeling good so you could show up for your business in the best possible way.

For you this might be about showing up for your career, your children, your family - whatever you want to be able to pour into from a place of abundance and overflow.

For years I had been stuck in a mindset of 'I’m not a morning person’ or ‘I could never be a morning person’.

So I had always avoided trying and dismissed anyone who spoke about morning routines.

Having been stuck in 10 months of lockdowns and anxiety, having the opportunity to dive into this 6 week course and strip away my limiting beliefs about being a morning person felt refreshing.

I thought - why not actually give it ago.

So I did!

I felt the difference immediately, but it took those 6 weeks for me to find my rhythm.

Rather than push for the big stretch goal of joining the 5am club (which I’m still not a member of!), I worked with what felt easy and comfortable.

I gauged my natural wake up time, this was easy as I ran my own business and didn’t have to be woken by an alarm. Although the dogs like to help me with this!

I then set an alarm to create consistency, incase I went to bed late or didn’t have a great nights sleep. It’s the consistency in a routine that’s key.

This started as an 8.30am wake up, 5 minute meditation, 5 minute journaling, 5 minutes for breakfast and then out the door to walk the dogs.

It’s how my Rise & Shine mentorship was born - through the simple and short 15 minute morning routine.

Having started and continued something so simple yet so profound is what drove me into coaching. I knew there was more WHOLElistic way I could support clients.

Fast forward 3 years and my morning routine has not only strengthen but helped me feel focused, energised and consistent.

I get so much more done by 9am, when just 3 years ago I had only been awake for half an hour!

I always felt like I was trying to catch up on the day.

Earlier this week I was reflecting on this as I sat and enjoyed a morning cup of coffee in the sunshine at 10am.

I’d woken at 6am, meditated for 20 minutes. Taken the dogs out for a walk for 90 minutes. Put a laundry wash on and hung it out on the line. Put food in the slow cooker ready for dinner and fed my sourdough starter PLUS created and published a social media post!

I could now have a gentle 90 minutes soaking up the sun, drinking coffee while reading a book,

I finally knew what being in overflow was like because that’s exactly where I am. I can now pour into other projects, loved ones and my business without the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions or on the verge of burn out.

I never intended to be an early riser, yet here I am 3 years later walking my dogs at 6.30am while watching the sunrise!

And I LOVE it.

A morning routine can be ANYTHING you want it to be.

As long as it feels good, is easy AND consistent - you’ll notice the different very quickly.

Imagine bidding farewell to brain fog, burn out or the morning rush. Being able to enjoy a slow morning, to support yourself first without feeling like your playing catch up.

This is one of my FAVOURITE ways to support you in your vibrant wellbeing journey.
