Setting goals and actually achieve them!

Welcome to the new year, have you made any resolutions? Do you tend to set and then forget until you reach the end of the year?

It happens to the best of us, so much so that it can seen easier to just forget goals and just flow through life. But how do you know if you’re achieving success or just going through the motions?

Goals give you clarity to create the focus and motivation to create success in life. Whether that success is in reaching a certain weight, creating a particular routine or healthy habit or getting a promotion or starting your own business.

Focus and motivation are what will help get you there, but you need a plan and to create a plan you need a goal, a target or an end result.

This helps you stay on track, because you have a ‘why’ to keep coming back to, it drives your motivation to succeeding.

If you could BE, DO or HAVE anything what would they be?

Write out a dream list of this in your journal. It doesn’t matter if you think they seem silly, too big or you deem yourself unworthy of having them. Just make a list.

Now you can evaluate the list and gauge what you’d actually like to achieve or get closer to achieving in 2024.

To do this its best to keep things super simple and just focus on 3 areas of your life and have 1 goal for each area.

For example:

Career/business - feel more organised

Health & Wellness - be more consistent with weight training

Romantic relationship - have a deeper connection with my partner

These are 3 areas and 3 goals, but they are still super vague. To create success its best to dive into why you want these aka how will you feel when you’ve achieved this.

Then break it down into small and easy task you can do either daily or weekly.

Feel more organised can become create a plan to batch tasks and content/projects so I’m ahead rather than creating new content daily or weekly.

Be more consistent with weight training can become create a plan to weight lift for at least 10 minutes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after walking the dogs.

Have a deeper connection with partner can become plan to (and block time in diary) to have an mid week evening date night and a Saturday morning coffee date together.

How could you recreate these examples for the max 3 areas you want to focus on for the next 3 months?

From there create a plan and block out the time in your diary.

Review and read your goals daily and adjust as needed.

Keep showing up for yourself and in time you will succeed.
