Sleep hacks for night owls

As a former night owl and snooze-aholic, I know how it feels when the alarm rings on a Monday morning.

The dread of having to drag yourself out of bed, the battle with the snooze button and the fogginess due to poor sleep.

Quality sleep is vital for a vibrant life and yet it is so easy to overlook AND the pressure to stay up late doesn’t help.

Whether that’s wanting to spend more time with your partner or children or just trying to get on top of the chores.

This eats into your sleep time and impacts your health in more ways then we are aware.

Our bodies have inner clocks - multiple that help us run at our prime, but when they are out of sync this affects your natural rhythm.

Below are my go to hacks for elevating your sleep quality which in turn will elevate your health and wellbeing.

Create a routine

Self care isn’t about lazing around doing absolutely nothing.

It’s about slowing down and resting.

Ensuring you schedule in time for self care is just as important as booking in to see your dentist. This could be 5 minutes if that’s all you feel you have right now to do something for yourself daily.

When it comes to sleep quality a routine plays out in 2 ways.

*Morning routine

*Evening routine

These can be super simple, but repeated daily will help you ease into your day and unwind.

Stop the snooze

STOP doing this is if you want to feel like your happiest & healthiest self

There’s ONE thing that will turn your health, happiness & wellbeing around yet so many overlook it.

I did for YEARS, because I didn’t believe something so simple could make that much difference.

Something we are encouraged to do because its the weekend

It’s time to STOP THE SNOOZE!

Yup no more lying in on the weekend, or any day for that matter, because it’s creating havoc with your health.

I’m not saying to not enjoy lazy time in bed for meditating, reading or snuggling up with your loved ones.

I’m not saying to never have a nap when you feel you need that extra boost (20 minutes is great now & then).

But that habit of snoozing away your morning is actually depleting you.

Healthy sleep habits will seriously improve your energy, mood & focus.

You’ll be a joy to be around, rather than feeling like a tired grumpy human!

Any habit worth improving can be challenging, but as a former snoozeaholic, I can tell you it's worth it.

I can help you work through them during my 90 day signature coaching program The Vibrant Wellbeing Method.
